As you all know, Mrs Ling asked us to measure the lengths of parts of the body. The chairpeople have made many announcements and reminders to all of you yet why dont we see full records? On friday, i have also told all of you to take your measurements and hand them up to vanessa during aesthetics practice. But did any of you do that? Vanessa also wrote the things you all have to measure on the board and told 2J to copy many times alr but then who took the initiative? Please luhh, I know the common tests are over and all of you wanna relax. Do spare a thought for us. Well, actually I'm here not to scold but help. You have to measure these things: (for those who didnt copy down)

*Please take them down in cm ( any maths calculations needed, do go to our maths pros)

And also, i guess we would be more busy as the year goes along, so many class things are abit extra for us, so do you all wanna make the class tee now? Okay let me tell you guys the situation of the class outing first.

It is'nt looking very good unfortunately.
Number of ppl coming is less than 25
And due to that we cant really settle the groupings cause suddenly who cant come then change and change then its unsettled. Okay it doesn't matter as long as the people who go have fun.

1) If theres any venues that you want to recommend just tag and uhhh, I also dunno how to do the poll so some kind soul pls help us ;D tq

•The Saturday b4 the the CNY week. ( Quite rush i don't think can make it)

Hey peeps! Believe or not i first time posting on onejay blog:D Whoo!

kk i post cuz we WELFARE REPS are planning a class outing for 2J whoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!=.=

Now the choices, i know we should let you all suggest but we decided to suggest some places to let you all choose cuz if we were to do it in class will be damn chaotic....

so the choices are 1.)West coast park( although is renovating, wont cover the whole perimeter rit?? still got open space for us to use(:

2.)East coast park( after wcp 2nd choice is ecp le, althought quite far but no choice cuz we need open space to carry out games and activities)

3.)Bukit timah hill( this one is mostly i thnk juz trek bt-hill only. No much acitivity can be done but still qutie fun lurh one whole group go then trekk together, mosquitios bite together)

Btw, remind you all this all places are chosen because of their multiple open spaces, we choose places not for their facilities but their amount of free space available cuz we WELFARE REPS is planning some team-building games instead of some BBQ(fail oneX:) and other stuffs.

MOST IMPORTANT THING--> i dont know how do polls so need someone do:D can someone help me do a poll, go tag at the tagbox who doing juz need one can le, then poll includes this 3 places. Any problems tell the WELFARE REPS during school or msn then we can include those venues and let you all choose:D

So. First of all, please check IVLE AFTER 26th Dec for details of the briefing as stated in one of the letters provided by RV. See, never read letters ah you all. (right..)

Details of collecting Big Walk T-Shirt is as follows:

1.28th, 29th, 30th Dec in Boon Lay campus student lounge which is near the canteen. and opp the bookshop

2.9am - 4pm but advised to come after 9.30am and before 3.30pm.

3.There will be lunch break for helpers from 12pm - 1pm (i tink) so dun come during lunch (:

4. Please rmb your t-shirt sizes as your Female/Male cut sizes as you will need them to get your shirt.

5. Dun expect me to help you take your shirt LOL It's not chairperson's responsibility to help the class get the shirt xD (too hardworking..nxt yr chairperson muz learn XD)

6. I will be helping out on the 30th for the whole day so you are advised to come on the 30th if you can't rmb your sizes xD

Ermm. I sorta help you all find out how to go to East Coast Park le. Go to Bedok Interchange, take 401 and than alight on the 15th stop including the interchange itself. We will be at Macdonald's there. Than can walk there or something.

Here on a mission to report about the class outing/chalet...

Okay, first things first, the welfare reps decided that a chalet would be too expensive (well not everyone can afford it...) plus it'll be difficult to get a chalet especially during the hols sooooo
we decided on a barbecue instead.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Place/venue: East coast park (although we haven't booked the pit, i think we should be able to get a slot...)

Time: You all may reach at 12p.m. (the barbecue'll start @ 12p.m. and end at 3p.m.)
Then at 3p.m. we'll have this mass cycling thing (gonna be fun)
and then we might have treasure hunt or sth

Date: on the 19th of NOV

Things we're gonna buy for the barbecue
includes:

-the netting for the pit
-charcoal
-butter (one tub)
-marshmallows ^^ yumyum (3 packs)
-satay sticks
-taiwan sausages(2 packs)
-fishballs
-drinks (5 bottles)
-otah (X 20)
-chicken wing (2 packs)
-honey (one bottle)
-normal sausages (3 packs)
-garbage bags( i think some one's bringing?)

yeah, i guess that's about it

Anyway, we reallyreallyreally hope everyone will try to make it because it is rumoured that the class might have to split up next year (i hope not T.T) and this is a really a good chance for the class to bond :D And this might be the last chance for the whole class to come together as 1J before school reopens.

And i also know that some of you are not willing to buy the 1J'09 class tee (or some can't) but i mean
what if (WHAT IF)
the class really splits up next year. You all are saying that buying this year's class tee is a waste of money because we can't get to wear it for a very long time but if we really split next year then we won't even have a onejay shirt as a keepsake.

okay even if we don't split up next year
the shirt can still be used for other class outings right? even though we're not 1J anymore, we were once from onejay, and i don't think it'll seem like we retained because the year is also stated on the tee shirt :)

for Janssen's case, we're thinking of getting him to pay whatever he can and the remaining amount that has to be paid to be divided amongst the rest of the class
so everyone only needs to pay alittle bit extra to help our deardear class chairperson kay?

hi peeps... these are the 2 design for our class tee... :)
the first one :D

the second design is the one that we used to discusse with the class :)

okay... remember i told you all that its abt $18++ after discount? :) erm the white shirt itself is $5. one art work (the tie) is $50. so you divide the $50 by the number of tee-shirt we buying(34 pcs).

altogether, we have three art work (the tie, "one jay '09" and the printings at the back. but the good news is... the company is trying to give us a discount but i havent confirm yet.

however, if you all think that its still too expensive, erm...i will go to other shops and check. hopefully we will be able to find a cheaper one lor:) ... but dun keep dragging... if not we will not be able to have our class tee in time :(

so last of all... can you all decide which design you all wun...thnxthnxthnx :P...(using the poll)

Hey ONEJAY^^

It has been a longlonglong time since I last posted so yea. Valen's back :)

Well, for those of you still stuck in your dreamworld, time to wake up, one year has past already. One year as a class, one year more to go.

Hey, we should really treasure all the time we have together now because of our 2 year journey as a class, we're already halfway through. So whatever days' coming, it's another day closer before we part.

So, really love each other ok?

I think this year was great and I really love ONEJAY^^ (although I always scream and shout at you all lah.. >.<) Let's just jiayou together in 2010 and really move on to a greater height ok?

A short message from Mr Xiong:
"I would like to use this chance to say a big thanks to all of you for making my first year in RV a very pleasant one. It seems only not too long ago I first met all of you for the 1st time in the class and watched you all perform during the year 1 orientation campfire. Over the past 1 year, I have seen many of you grown and matured. I have learnt a lot from all of you too. Like what Mrs Yap has said, i hope that you all will remember all the naggings and do not treat us like strangers next time ok?! haha. All the best!"

If you all want class chalet this year, it will be on the 17th, 18th & 19th. About $5 per person, really very cheap actually.

It is the most non peak period. This is at downtown east, AKA escape theme park there.

If you all wan, we will organise, like sleepovers and stuff we will plan. But if dun wan so point lahs. Than Maxine will be posting the class tee design up on class blog also and I will be creating polls for class tee & chalet SO PLEASE RESPOND!

If not all 34 responds rite, I will just take majority ah. So yea, Can like ask your friend to help you also lah. But the friend dun go sabo you and choose another one.

I will post the chalet one up first followed by the class tee cause I dun have details. (Just helping the reps out)

I know some of you dont get why I'm doing so im telling you why. Btw, I didnt post the previous one. Look, I didn't put it on Sunday cause it would be too rush. Not on tues cause there's cca. Never on wed cause there's pss and no time at all. Like what you all said. If i start it at 2 and end at 6 is not sufficent what makes it possible that starting it at 4 and ending at 6 would be perfect? (Shiying you lost your bet -.-) Next, I know quite a number of you want it at IMM or somewhere near Jurong. But you have to know that not everyone knows how to go there. You cant deny that not everyone in our class knows how to go to vivo. Well, there's also time on thurs itself to finish up everything if you all remember. Time is given to rehearse but I'm using that to teach those who can't make it for the meeting. Understand now?

Now for the relay msg. I think it had not been specific enough. But i want you all to know that it is a CLASS event. You cant just not go because you dont feel like or it's not to your own desire. We are meeting at 2 at vivo and everyone must have their lunch before that. Those that didnt go and didn't give me a proper reason; names would be given to form teachers. We may be ending it at bout 6. Please bring paper and pen. Can you all help tell this to your friends and like go for this thing? EOYs are over and there would be lesser reasons why you shouldn't go.

so, the final submission deadline is 16TH OCTOBER 2009, FRIDAY, 11.59PM. please submit through ivle. And as usual, students whose file size is more than 15mb, you would have to submit your file to Miss Toh personally on 19th october 2009, monday. Mind you, zero mark for late submission.
If you already submitted your work, and you want to improve on it, you would have to state under the description that your file is the improved version when you re-upload your file. And, she also said that she already emailed some of you whose work needs improvement, do check your inbox and junk mail to see if you are one of them.
Your animation skills are very important and animation technique weighs 50%!! :O

Ok lah. I shall be old and naggish and post about the past 7 months xD

So well, we all started out on the same day, orientation 2009 rocked I believe. We totally owned the campfire performance and we were very united then. Everything was new to us and we stuck together as a class and we rock! :D

Mr Xiong and Mrs Yap as form t, THe other various teachers.

First 6 months of our lovely science, Mr Boey was the dear dear teacher who took us, taught us, entertained us, loved us and :D "ONEJAY~ You all got listen to what I say anot??"

Our Maths teacher Mr Xiong who stomped out of class countless of times because he was upset with our behaviour:
1.talking too much
2.doing other stuff while he's talking
3.too noisy
4.not listening to him despite his efforts

He was our deardear Mr X aka Bear who we forced to eat one whole bowl of sweet potato porriage and even posed for the cam! xD

CID teachers Mr Xiong (again xD) and Mr Tan. THe funny duo who taught us HOM through their weirdweird and cutecute methods. *remember the Mr Tan hit Mr Xiong and Mr Xiong acted noob de xD (sry Mr Xiong, no offence, this is for memory purposes xD)*

Remember how Mr Xiong tauht us about rocket launching and it was such a nicenice experience, Calling him ~~Xiongxiong~~ (xP I scared later he come kill me) at the grandstand and make him wanna kill us liao xD (sorry!! XP) FUN RITE!! :D

Our history teacher, Mrs Yap who we must have drived nuts with our weird weird history answers xD Also our form t.

Lang Arts, Mr Chow - the one who gets irritated becuase who don't ask questions because we don't voice out xD

HCL, Miss Yu who always tells us stories and cold jokes just to 'wake us up'. Hehe.

MR LOH!! Who had random mood swings but always joke here and there and let us have wonderfulwonderful funfun P.E. lessons^^

Dear Students,

This is a letter from a member of the public.

"Dear Sir

Earlier today on 08th June 2009 at 1230hrs, I was on board SBS bus no. 166 on the upper deck when the bus came to berth at bus stop along Alexandra Road in front of Hewlett Packard building when a group of your school students when on board the said bus on the deck at which I'm at. It was a disturbing scene when this group of about 20 odd students comprising of mostly guys and about 6 girls were gushing in to the upper deck of the bus in a rowdily manner and their volume of noises were somewhat extremely intolerable as they were shouting through out their conversation through out my bus journey till my last stop at Clementi Interchange at which to a certain extent where I've notice a few passengers on board were shifting their places elsewhere. At one point of time, I even heard banging noises against the wall board at the last end of the deck.

Their behavior as students from River Valley High School is totally unacceptable and strongly believe that this issue has to be dealt among your students when it comes to terms with conducting themselves as a student of high prestige school like River Valley High in view of the public while in uniform attire. I find it ashame too as there is a small group of 4 chinese girls in school uniform at which I strongly believe they are from one of those neighbourhood schools and they were in the same level with me in the bus and they are behaving in a very orderly manner. "

Well, this is what i found out.
You have to take bus services 16, 155, 196 to Marine Crescent or Marine Terrace and walk across the underpasses or overhead bridge to get to ECP.
Bus service 16 is the most convenient de.
So right, in order to take bus service 16, you have to get to Bedok Bus Interchange and travel there.

Ok. This is regarding Class outing lahs. Erm, it's 12pm~ at east coast rite. I propose we meet at Macdonalds? I tink it's easier to meet lah(:

But, erm. I have no offence to 1J or anything. But I tink this outing isn't very well planned la. So do you all wan to shift this outing till end of year. I mean, cuz, if we fail to plan, we plan to fail.

And YES. WE ARE FAILING TO PLAN!!

Ok. So. Can we fast fast decide what we wanna do there? We must be vehveh organise in this. Lik, nobody should be late, then we need people in charge of food and blah blah. Haha.

And then, (thanks haolong) the things to do rite, lik, we need do something lik as a class lah. If not lik defeat the purpose of class outing le. So if we go cycling and skating, probably everyone will be alone ritex. I mean lik. some people will want to slack(ME) some people will want to cycle(ALSO ME) then some people will wanna skate.

So how? And do you all seriously want the class outing now? I mean, to me kinda rush la. And it's as though we are having the outing for the sake of it leh. Can we push it back till december. AND WE PLAN CONSECUTIVELY THROUGHOUT 6 months! I mean, lik, we can work on bonding in the months and then also, we can have better planning, maybe can have chalet together also. Isn't it better?
